A 2011 Toniq CB200, this is the latest generation of Toniq to come from the Cornish stable. Running with an all new chassis specifically designed to run with the Ford Duratec engine and coupled with a six speed box and limited slip differential, this car is capable of running toe to toe with any of its "seven" rivals.
Prior to being featured in a national motoring magazine the car required a full suspension setup. The test was to simulate driving to a track day, so the car would be driven hard both on the road and track.
We calculated and matched the poundage of the springs to the weight and type of vehicle. Having set the length of the springs we then measured and set the droop. The tyres were set to what we believed to be a starting hot running pressure.
The ride height was set to desired height and rake before adjusting the camber, caster and toe angles. The dampers were then set to a middle setting and the car was corner weighted on the digital longacre scales adjusting front and rear weight distribution as necessary and with the driver and half a tank of fuel on board. Finally the ride heights were checked and the car was road tested.
With these base settings we were able to make minor adjustments to ensure a solid setup.
The car performed well in the tests and proved itself against the other vehicles it was being tested against.
