AtomicRex has been working with Carbon products since its inception. We have concentrated on developing weight saving products for the Rx7 without compromising on fit whilst remaining functional and elegant.
We can manufacture complex multi-piece moulds such as doors and tailgates, as well as simple single piece moulds such as side skirts. We can fuse Carbon with billet flanges to produce engine components such as a compression elbow for the Rx7.
One of our favourite products we produce are Carbon intake hard pipes. These can be formed into complex shapes that would be costly if not impossible to produce in aluminium whilst maximising flow by minimising pressure losses. Each pipe is individually manufactured and tested to over 4 bar to check for porosity.
Many of the products we produce in Carbon can also be copied in GRP at a reduced cost with no loss in performance. However some items require the material proporties of Carbon so as to gain the same rigidity using GRP would add too much weight and bulk and be inefficient.
A compromise can be made however to gain the Carbon look and still keep the cost low by going half and half. We can lay up using a Carbon outer skin, but then gain the layered strength by using a glass cloth on the inside.
In many cases it is possible to repair damaged composite structures at a greatly reduced price to that of new products. However this is on a very much case by case basis, please contact us to discus further.
AtomicRex have developed a number of aero components for the Rx7, the principles of which can be applied to most road based vehicles. Our products include front splitters, flat floors, rear diffusers, wide arch kits and side skirts.
Where possible we are able to repair damage to vehicles. We can jig damaged chassis and replace or repair body panels.
Achieving higher levels of grip usually requires increasing the width of the wheels. To accommodate this we can flare the top of the wheel arches to allow greater clearance for the wider tyre. There is an element of risk that your paint can crack, but we will advise prior to rolling.
We offer a full range of spraying from a race to concourse finish. We can spray exterior, interior, engine bays or individual components.
