AtomicRex in conjunction with CLR motorsport are proud to build performance rotary engines to customer specification for power, budget and intended application. CLR Motorsport are notable for providing engines to Mazda's ALMS factory entry as well as building the 2009 Daytona 24hr class winning engine. Exact specifications will vary but can incorporate the following modifications for performance and reliability
We offer a range of porting options for both intake and exhaust ports to maximise engine power and driveability across the rev range without compromising throttle response .
There are a range of specialist modifications to improve engine response and increase reliable rev limits:
Lightening and balancing the rotors reduces vibration and rotational inertia. This allows the engine to rev quicker and higher whilst remaining reliable. The standard static factory tolerances are 50 grams difference between the two rotors, however a 25 gram difference is more acceptable and achievable by mixing and matching rotors. By statically balancing the rotors we can achieve tolerances within 1 gram.
Dynamic intolerances are caused by the rotor being out of balance under rotation similar to an out of balance wheel and tyre. The standard dynamic factory tolerance is 10 grams, once again we are able to achieve tolerances within 1 gram. Unlike having your wheel and tyre balanced by adding weight to key areas, the balancing process of the rotor removes weight to achieve a near perfect rotation.
Clearancing the rotor is necessary when looking for high rpm applications to avoid contact between the rotor and side housings. This occurs due to heat induced expansion of the rotors.
AtomicRex can offer a series of oil modifications to the housings, e-shaft and pump to improve flow and increase cooling.
These are probably one of the most import modifications that can be performed to the engine. There are a number of methods to achieve increased cooling as the power climbs.
All work is undertaken in a clean and dedicated area with specialist tools and stands.
